
A quick note from Jim Van Fleet...
I started operating Mainely Tubs on Jan. 1, 1994, several weeks after I'd been soaking in a hot tub with my tennis playing friend and real estate broker. After some discussion about buying a spa for myself he asked, "Why just buy a tub when you could buy the whole company?" He conveniently had the listing.
In my first year, 1994, we sold just over 30 hot tubs with only two staffers. Now, we have grown into to a 7-day-a-week operation, with a staff of over 20, with unit sales of hot tubs, saunas, and whirlpools more than 30 times that first year’s total. Now with a customer base of almost 10,000 strong, I still adamantly believe that my business isn’t selling hot tubs but rather, “taking care of customers once they’ve chosen to do business with us." The facts and data show that we do it better than anybody else in our industry!
The rising popularity of the hot tub is a direct result of the multiple health benefits that baby boomers and others are experiencing when using their hot tub regularly, ranging from better sleep, stress relief, better cardiovascular conditioning, arthritis and muscle pain relief, and good old-fashioned family fun.
It feels good to know that the products we sell (including saunas) can actually make people healthier and feel better. I can’t tell you how many customers tell me that their product is the best investment they ever made in themselves.
I credit my award-winning staff, many of whom are my customers who I've hired as the business has grown. They are routinely recognized (last year nationally) for their outstanding knowledge, professionalism, and friendly, can-do attitudes.
